The Lafayette House, having been in operation for 20 years, is the oldest Bed and Breakfast in Saint Louis. Located across from Historic Lafayette Park, this 14-room brick Queen Anne Victorian mansion is an historically significant home built in 1876 by Captain James B. Eads, builder of the Eads Bridge. Walnut woodwork, 14-foot ceilings, large rooms with fireplaces, and a beautifully carved walnut staircase are just a few of the amenities. The Lafayette House guestrooms are individually decorated, have either queen sized or full sized beds. Some rooms have fireplaces, oversized Jacuzzi tubs, and wet bar. Also adjoining three-story Romanesque style house features two large rooms with private baths, one with a wet bar and original marble fireplace, and the other with a two-person Jacuzzi and
rounded windows.
